Genetics: o/Bb/DD/dmdm/II/ss/Ccb/ww/aa/mcmc/ll/mkmk
Breed: Maine Coon

Distinct features: He possesses a rather tightly wound red ribbon around the end of his tail, tied in a rather hash knot.
Personality: When it comes to the better part of understanding the deeper philosophical questions every feline asks, there are many things that come to mind. Are your offspring going to grow up plentiful and healthy or are you going to perish without leaving your mark? Is there an afterlife, and if so, what is in it? That mouse I saw yesterday, could I perhaps formulate a new plan to capture it and it's ilk as quickly as possible? These questions and more...are better left to smarter felines. Goliath is not known for being the most cunning feline around. Instead this slow, plodding and ultimately simple creature sticks to his guns and runs with them. Goliath has an unusually warm personality and tends to be a tom of little words, though he often tends to love company and ultimately seeks it out as a form of coping, survival and merely to observe how other cats work. He is peaceful and considering, often times coming off as very kind and generous - sometimes to his own detriment. For you see, he is also very gullible. A mere suggestion might be taken 100% literally and he has absolutely no sense of wrong or right. This, combined with the fact he's very easily pleased, entertained and approaches new situations with a kitten-like wide-eyed curiosity tends to land him in more than his own fair share of trouble.
Although he is largely dim witted and gullible, this friendly feline also has a little bit of an easily triggered temper. Particularly towards anything attempting to steal his food or when repeatedly injured. Though his large size does help him treat certain assaults like someone trying to have a play fight, it tends to be different when you rake a hulking brute across the face only for him to go berserk on you. When faced with a stressful situation or panic, Goliath often times strikes to cripple or kill his opponents as quickly as can be, often with reckless abandon and clumsiness. However, he is just as likely to stop half way through and apologize profusely for breaking your jaw into splinters as he is to keep beating on the bravado-laden curr who just stole his fresh kill beyond death.
When faced with weaker felines, he tends to feel very protective, often times going so far as to attempt to stand over them in order to offer extra shade and giving a large share of his food. In what is perhaps genetics attempting to make up for being a dope, Goliath is also particularly friendly and receptive around females.
History: Passionate, resolute, coddling? Often were these words used in order to describe Goliath's mother. Now, how many do you think were his? Exactly. All of them. In truth, there was one thing that could be said about her - she certainly was good at taking care of her kittens. Through problems did arise from time to time, it was unfortunate that Goliath's litter happened to be the very last, as there were certain difficulties bringing them to term. His father, Nimrod, was able to help keep the small litter alive for as long as can be, teaching the other strays the basics of staying alive. However, beyond that, it was the aptly named Goliath that he chose to abandon first, deeming him far too clumsy to survive for very long. However, unrestrained and free to develop, Goliath practiced. He practiced repeatedly to stay alive, stealing food from dumpsters and hunting down vermin with incredible ease. Where he lacked in terms of planning he made up for with ferocious strength and speed, easily able to snap the bones of a rat like toothpicks. Competition wasn't very hearty, however few other felines his age would try to steal his kills. The rumor was that resting in Goliath's shadow was very, very much bad luck. Not helped was his knee-jerk reaction to a starving younger tom attempting to take a bite out of his kill...which unfortunately head to a very broken skull by the end of it. Poor Goliath, with little idea of what he had done, simply went along thinking he'd knocked the other out. Yet another example of his innocent recklessness was following said unfortunate feline's scent back to his little hidey hole, where in an attempt to wait for their return and apologize - he found several small items to procure for his own, including a long segment of red ribbon, which he ended up tangling around the tip of his tail.
Now freely wandering around, an aspiring adult looking to interact with others, make new friends and embrace the call of the wild, Goliath takes his time...every day comes one step at a time...after all, what's the point of rushing? We're all going to get 'there' eventually. For the big guy - that trip can take as long as it likes...for their specialty is weathering the hard part.
