FERUS -- WILD Welcome to Ferus. Here you will find safety, comfort; here you will discover your family, and you will have shelter and refuge. What you need we will provide and in turn you will serve us with your being. Should you choose to accept such an offer within our ranks, find us at Lac Lune and the island within. -- THE RANKS *the numbers in the brackets denote how many spots are available in the rank. [-] denotes no limit. ** bolded names indicate seniority in a rank. FIRST && SECOND LEADER: The leaders of the Colony. They are expected to pick up the slack where the Colony is lacking, for a leader must take care of their group at all times. The Leaders are the diplomats of Ferus. Their word is law. These ranks are filled by ANDROMEDA and -- [1] THE REGENT / THIRD LEADER: The second-in-command. In the presence of the First and Second Leaders, they have the full right to take leadership of the Colony until the First and Second Leader/s return. The Regent is the diplomat of Ferus. This rank must be assigned by the First or Second Leader and is challengeable for [1] VICE REGENT: The Vice Regent is a young cat who has been selected by the current Regent to succeed them. The Vice Regent rank may not be challenged for, but should the Regent change, the current Vice Regent is not safe either - should the new Regent desire it to be so, they may choose another. [1] -- TUTOR: This is the cat that teaches the youth of Ferus, the connection to the four Deities, as well as functions as the Lead Healer of Ferus. As their rank encompasses multiple duties, they are not known as either but take the name of Tutor. The Tutor may assign ranks to cats as healers as they see fit, and acts as a mentor to the healers of Ferus. During a Death Match, it is the Tutor alone who may intervene as they are seen as close to the Four Deities, particularly Airlia, and hence know the will of the Gatekeeper. HEALERS: They are the medicine-cats of Ferus. All healers report to the Tutor and all healers must have knowledge of healing. LEAD FISHER: The most senior holder of the Fisher rank takes on this role. They are expected to mentor and manage other Fishers, and may report to the leadership for assistance if it is required. The Lead Fisher is granted the right to rank unranked cats as Fishers as they see fit, and call meetings within their rank. The Lead Fisher is expected to take on the duties of a Fisher, as they still stand within the Fisher rank. [1] FISHERS: The Fishers supply the Colony with food, since they live at Lac Lune and their primary source of food is fish. [-] LEAD HUNTER: The most senior holder of the Hunter rank takes on this role. They are expected to mentor and manage other Hunters, and may report to the leadership for assistance if it is required. The Lead Hunter is granted the right to rank unranked cats as Hunters as they see fit, and call meetings within their rank. The Lead Hunter is expected to take on the duties of a Hunter, as they still stand within the Hunter rank. [1] HUNTERS: The Hunters supplement the fish with other land prey, and work closely with the Fishers. [-] LEAD GUARD: The most senior holder of the Guard rank takes on this role. They are expected to mentor and manage other Guards, and may report to the leadership for assistance if it is required. The Lead Guard is granted the right to rank unranked cats as Guards as they see fit, and call meetings within their rank. The Lead Guard is expected to take on the duties of a Guard, as they still stand within the Guard rank. The Lead Guard is also expected to train other cats who seek to better themselves through spars and battles, and may conduct Colony-wide training sessions.[1] GUARDS: The Guards are the militia of the Colony - they defend it with their lives, and they provide the offense force as well. Guards work closely with the Scouts. [-] LEAD SCOUT: The most senior holder of the Scout rank takes on this role. They are expected to mentor and manage other Scouts, and may report to the leadership for assistance if it is required. The Lead Scout is granted the right to rank unranked cats as Scouts as they see fit, and call meetings within their rank. [1] SCOUTS: The Scouts are the eyes and ears of Ferus, and may be sent out to different Colonies and bands as spies, or simply to check the borders, or gather information from outside Ferus. They work closely with the Guards. [-] APPRENTICES: The yearlings are expected to choose a path to follow at the Full Moon's Children festival, and they will remain in Apprenticeship for another year before becoming fully ranked. They apprentice under a senior holder of the rank of the path they have chosen, or the Lead ranking cat. Alternatively, the Lead of each path may also pick Apprentices ahead of time, and they will be expected to follow the chosen path. This usually only happens when the yearling in question possesses a set of skills highly suitable for a certain path. UNRANKED: The unranked cats - old and young - fall under this category. They are expected to hunt and learn how to fight like any other cat - they merely do not take a specialty. As they have a relatively lighter workload, the Unranked members of Ferus must take care of the elderly and youth in the colony, and their primary duty is to help out where needed. [-] - Crookshanks -- PRISONERS: The prisoners are to be treated with respect, as they too, are cats. Prisoners are mostly captives in battle, and they may join Ferus if they wish. [-] TRAITORS: To be killed on sight. Ferus has no need for those who would turn their backs on family. [-] |
