Personality:
Fair, confident, courageous. What’s not to like? Pastel is calm in her decision making, confident about the decisions she’s made, and willing to die for what she believes in- Also for kids, actually. She’s a real softie when it comes to youngsters. Her attitude is a mix of humor and bravery, something you’d think would make friends easy, right? Right! Kidding, jeeze, wrong… I don’t know who didn’t see that coming. For her three positive traits there are three negative ones that once gave her a bad rep, and will continue to again. Resentful, treacherous, dishonest. It’s unfortunately easy to anger Pastel, and once that happens… She doesn’t know when to call it quits. Once she’s figured out someone has an issue with either her or someone she loves, it doesn’t matter who this person she’s going after is. A leader. A parent. An old friend. Betrayal is hardly a word to be worried by in her language. The person she’s fighting for tells her to stop- But unfortunately, there’s no stopping Pastel once she’s made up her mind. Confident and courageous. As for dishonest, well, sometimes you need stories on hand to keep away the real ones. And she does, actually… Interesting facts are: She tells stories. Pastel fears losing loved ones, as well as failure. In her life, she looks to gain respect and friendship that lasts. Strong distaste for bugs, has never had a love life, and finds the concept of magic interesting.
History:
Pastel was raised mostly by her parent’s mouse, Pattern. They kept Pat alive in a world where she’d be dead, eaten by cats, or simply tortured. In return, Pat took care of jobs they didn’t want to handle- This included raising Pastel and her brother- Summit. To be fair, it wasn’t that their parents didn’t want to spend time with their kids… It was more of the fear of messing up. They ran a strict company that revolved around burglary and other various crimes that they wouldn’t admit. They weren’t proud of what they did- Who wants a kid to grow up in that environment? However, sheltering Pastel and her brother was what gave her her good traits. She learned to be fair from Pat, and was confident and courageous around her brother. There was no fear in her life, only sunny days and the vague question of why her parents were never around. Because she felt like Pat was her mom, although couldn’t name it like that because she didn’t feel that way towards her actual mom, she gained a skewered view of loyalty. Blood relations and leadership positions meant nothing to her, and while she wasn’t quite in the zone for gaining her other traits… It was a nice set up. It was when her brother was killed, attacked by cats that disagreed with their work, that finally made puzzle pieces set into place, made her extremely pissed that her parents had lied to her and her brother… If they’d said something, Summit would’ve recognized the cats as not of their colony… Would’ve gotten out of the way. The peaceful brother she had loved would still be by her side. If they had lied, then she had no reason not to. They came to check up on her more often, worried faces- Guilty faces. Are you okay? Yes. Did you see Summt die? No. Did you see the way they took his guts as a prize? No. Do you want us to explain why? Yes. And so Pastel joined her parents in their endeavours, now one year old. Only she still needed someone to blame for her brother’s death- The cats? No. Her parents. I don’t think they ever realised their daughter was mad at them. Thoroughly believed that crooked smile, believed she was ready to join them in the jobs that questioned morality. She wasn’t, and this only made her hate them more. Hated them for not being brave enough to properly educate their children on the dangers they faced, for taking away her best friend. Hated them for not even looking sad- Only politely dim. Despised them for after all that, roping her into their work- Killing cats that spoke against them, raiding food from fellow colonies. Getting members of their own group murdered, so that they didn’t grow more powerful than her parents. Resentful. They were her parents who loved her. Treacherous. They would never see it coming. Dishonest. After tracking down the two cats that personally murdered her brother and ruining their lives, she leaked information to the colony about her own colony’s whereabouts one night, when they’d be resting and not working. One in the morning, screams came her colony’s home. The other bodies were silent.
No one was loyal to her except for Pat, which she half expected and half didn’t. Expected her colony to hate her should they find out, although didn’t plan on sticking around either. Didn’t expect the other colony to force her own into a truce, and then pin her as the one who started it. Spread rumors about her doing it as a kit, too- Helping the enemy murder poor little Summit. The entire land knew of her at this point… She was the one parents warned their kids away from becoming. Pastel never expected Pattern to stay by her side, though… Her nurse. Her mother without that name. When what she’d just done set it, she curled up in a hollow tree and cried. Then stopped crying. Then cried again. So it went on, not wanting to regret anything she’d done by feeling it could’ve been handled different anyways… A way Summit would’ve actually approved of. But Summit wasn’t there anymore, and that was their fault. Pat curled up on her head, comforting the cat in the way she had when she was young. Pat would always be there for her, and Pastel decided this was the only given in her world. The world she’s trying to leave.
