It is hard to say whether Fang is insane or not. He's definitely emotionless and cold, but insane? Perhaps not. He wants power and authority, and will do anything to get it. Wherever Fang goes, he stirs up trouble, even without looking for it. It's almost as if he can't help himself. He's guaranteed to make enemies mostly. But does he have a good side to him? No one knows, because no one has ever been that close with him, and Fang often wonders whether he would be able to show his feelings... if he even had them anymore. His life and history has made him unfeeling. He's done being merciful; he wants his turn in life.
History:
Birth - Varg was given the name Fang by his adoptive mother. He doesn't remember his birth family at all, but he was found in a bag floating in a river by a sweet she-cat who had just lost her kits to a dog attack. He apparently had been born in a household to a house-cat, but the owners did not want to take care of the kittens, so they had disposed of them in the river. He had three other siblings, but they had already drowned; Fang was the sole survivor. Her name was Luna and she became his mother and nursed him.
2 Months - At the age of 2 months, his mother went out hunting and never came back. He was still so little, and was afraid to leave the den that they resided in. He waited for the longest time, but eventually after about a week his hunger drove him out. He had no hunting experience, but he tried his best; the first day he caught nothing though. The next day, he tried again, but still nothing. Growing desperate, he looked on the ground and ate whatever insects and worms he could find. He managed to barely get by like this.
4 Months - He stayed by his den. Fang never gave up on his mother's return... nor did he understand the concept of the fact that bad things happen in this world. When he was four months old, he decided to go searching for her. Surely she couldn't have just left him! She couldn't be far, even after this long. Maybe she had found a human house to live in, but they would not let her out to come back and get him? So he searched, but found no trace of her anywhere. He never gave up, but every day his hope began to fade.
6 Months - Soon, Fang found that he had traveled for many miles, and felt like he was an eternity away from his old home with his mother Luna. He had learned how to fend for himself, and was beginning to accept the fact that he was going to be alone. He would not find his mother; he only had himself now. He'd grown accustomed to living like this. Soon after this realization, he found a city.
7 Months - He usually kept a low profile in the city, catching whatever he could, and he usually remained on the outskirts. He knew that cats lived in the city, and so he finally gained the courage to go and check them out. However, he should not have done so, because when he sought a certain group out, they beat him badly, leaving him with deep wounds physically and emotionally. He fled the city after that and traveled onward.
10 Months - In the wilds, he met another cat... a she-cat named Lily. She resembled his mother, and that was one of the things that drew him to her. They traveled together and became good friends, and eventually even more than that. They fell in love.
12 Months - Lily and Fang had three kits (Wolf, Glow and Aspen) together and settled down in a little forest. They lived very happily for a while. Everything seemed perfect in Fang's life now.
1 Year, 2 Months - Fang's world shattered around him when a large group of cats led by a scarred tom named Scorch arrived in his territory and took his family from him. Scorch forced Fang, his mate and his kits to become slaves to him. They were badly mistreated. His family was scared, but Fang did not know how to escape and help his mate and kits.
1 Year, 3 Months - A month had passed since being captured and forced into slavery. His family was now malnourished and his kits were beginning to feel it; they were weak. Deciding he had had enough of this, Fang became full of wrath and approached Scorch without fear. He demanded that his kits be fed, even if it meant that he and Lily had to starve. Scorch laughed in his face and pinned him down to the ground; if there ever had been mercy in this horrible cat, it was gone now. He lifted his paw, claws unsheathed, and was about to kill Fang when Lily came to his rescue and began to fight Scorch. He killed her the first chance he got, and Fang could do nothing but stand in shock. Scorch was enraged by this rebellion of sorts, and ordered his cats to kill Fang in front of his kits. Fang was afraid and in such emotional pain right then... but as the cats began to surround him, he lost it. He attacked and killed as many as came at him, and no one came close to killing him. Scorch and two other cats took a hold of his kits and ran off into the woods, and he chased after them to a river. Scorch told him that if he did not submit to him, he would have his kits thrown in the river. Being forced to submit out of love for his children, he bowed down before Scorch and gave up the fight. Then, Scorch and his two followers cheated Fang and threw Wolf, Glow and Aspen in the river anyway. Fang attacked Scorch by grabbing him by his neck, but the other two cats clamped onto his sides and back legs. In a heap, they fell into the river, all bloodied up. In the water, Scorch and Fang faced off, inflicting terrible wounds on each other. There was no sign of his kits, though he tried to look. Out of nowhere, they all fell off a waterfall. Fang washed up ashore the river below, coughing and gasping, and... alone. He looked around and saw the bodies of the two cats floating down the river, dead or passed out. He did not see Scorch anywhere. Standing, he rushed away down the river to search for his kits... but never found them, though he searched very hard.
1 Year, 6 months - Fang followed the river for months, hoping to at least find the bodies of his kits. In this time he grieved heavily for his lost mate, and wished he could have buried her. He found an abandoned shack and lived there for a while.
2 Years - When he turned 2 years old, he moved on. His heart was still heavy with grief, but time had helped him deal with it. He accepted what had happened to him, and traveled onward. He wandered from place to place after this, leaving the shack behind and never really interacting with any cats he may have met along the way.
2 Years, 7 Months - Soon, the pain in him became too much and Fang began to lose feeling. He numbed himself to the pain, and then to everything else. These were the first steps to becoming who he is today. He arrived at Foxcroft, but never entered the city. He stayed out on the outskirts, much like he had when he was 7 months old. In that time, strange dreams came to him; a voice screamed to him repeatedly, "VARG. VARG. VARG. A NEW LIFE IN THE CITY."
3 Years - One day, he decided to enter Foxcroft... with a new identity and a new heart, made of stone.
