Name: Top Hatter (Hatter, Mr.Hat, and almost all variations work just as well though).
Age: Long forgotten (deceased)
Gender: Male
Genetics: o BB dd dmdm ii ss CC ww aa SpSp LL mkmk
Breed: Chartreux black Chausie mix
Size: Extra large and Lanky
Eye color: Orange
Coat color: Blue
Coat length: Short
Markings: None
Distinct features: His fur is short and velvety in texture with the exception of the "normal" short hair length around his neck, on his cheeks, and behind his ears. When he goes manic, patches of the fur tend to bristle while others don't and become stained an almost invisible dark red, giving him an even more crazed appearance. He has a noticeable problem in his right front leg that that isn't so bad when he is walking, but when he is still and not focusing, the leg tends to raise itself up towards his body and trembles.
Personality:
The events of Hatter's past have effectively shattered his psyche, creating three distinctive personality evolutions.Ghost Hatter is essentially how he is. He is a bit socially awkward and has a funny way of speaking. Generally antisocial and easily flustered, the guy keeps mostly to himself. On top of that, the fact that he is dead seems to have been a big strike against his ego. He tends to be sulky and moody, but he is probably the most reasonable cat in the afterlife when in this form. He has a strong dislike of Cheshire and warns against other about talking to him. Mad Hatter was his decent into, well, madness. It is the combination of his own personality, how he remembers Hare's, and the atrocious thoughts and feelings he felt as he died. Narcissistic, filled with delusions of grandeur, attention seeking, blissful beyond reason, and open about his inquiries of how devouring the flesh, he definitely has a problem. However, it is a lot more fun to be around...but when he gets mad, he raves. Interestingly enough, no matter how many times he interacts with Cheshire in this mode and how, he doesn't seem to recall ever meeting him. Finally, there is Teatime Hatter very social, effeminate, and carefree. He almost always arranges for the cats to come together to socialize. He has a link to Ghost Hatter in which he can understand his feelings and has his memories, but it isn't vice-versa. He and Cheshire are good friends.
History: Top Hatter lived in a time long before Foxcroft was even founded along with a human who was part of a travelling theater. The human had two pets; Top Hatter, a cat who wore a top hat on his head and Hare Bow, an artic hare who wore bows on both of her ears. One day, the caravan was attacked by bandits in the middle of a thick, dark forest and set on fire, leaving everyone but Top Hatter and Hare Bow dead. The two managed to escape, but the heat had badly damaged Hatter's front leg when he was pawing at the latch on Hare's cage and to the window. Normally, it would heal up with treatment, but as they traveled through the woods, it got worse and worse and worse. Soon it was clear that it was infected, and Hatter was no longer able to walk. He couldn't hunt for himself and had no choice but to sit and wait for death. Hare refused to leave his side however and decided that she would just have to sit and rot with him, much to Hatter's dismay. As the cuddled closely together and waited for death, eventually the hunger got to be too much for Hatter. He bit through his friend's neck while she was sleeping and devoured her. It was the worst decision of his soon-to-be ended life. The guilt of it was overbearing, and giving into his hunger made him realize how much he was not ready to die. He wanted to live with every fiber of his being, but the more he struggled, the denser and more constricting the forest seemed. When death finally came, it was to the mouth of a hungry fox, just like nature intended. He vaguely realized the karma of the situation; the creature was so desperate and hungry, it simply ate him up alive. Hatter's mind did well to censor the physical pain, but the pain in his heart and mind from the experience seems to be keeping him from resting in peace.
