Personality: Orion is a calm but introverted tom who prefers his own company to that of others. As such, he may not have any interest in joining up with other cats even if it benefits his own chance of survival. He isn't cruel or hostile to other cats, but he does not usually have any interest in small talk or spending his sparse free-time on others. He is clever enough to determine ways to escape and survive in dangerous situations, but not physically fit enough to handle himself well in a fight. In certain situations he can be seen as shy and nervous, and he often is when he's stuck in a crowd, especially when tensions are high. Otherwise he is cool and collected, observing everything around him for his chance to make his escape.
History: Orion was born to a pretty she-cat who looked almost exactly like him, although she was a bit more red and her tabby markings more obvious. He never knew who his father was because, as is the way for many strays, his parents mated and then the father moved on to find another cat. His mother raised him and his brother for the first few months of their lives, teaching them to hunt and fight. Orion was always a bit of a mommy's boy, listening to every word she said and dong all she asked right when she asked it. His sister was a little more curious and adventurous, and left home a few months before Orion was kicked out, with love, to begin his own life. He hasn't seen his sister since, but it's a large world and knows she's probably out there somewhere, making a life for herself. Eventually his mother told him it was time he went off and experienced the world, and after two goodbyes, they went their separate ways. Being with his mother all the time had made Orion a bit shy and not very willing to socialize with others. He didn't know how to talk to other cats and found himself in a strange situation where he wasn't sure how to handle himself. Rather than take the time to learn, he decided he as better off alone and refused to join any gangs or groups of cats, even if they seemed to have things better than he did.
At first, things went great. He was a fairly decent hunter and had a good ability to climb trees to escape dangerous animals. He didn't often run into hostile cats and hadn't needed to fight at all for his first year of life. Although his mother had taught him how to fight, he wasn't really good at it, and his slender size made it so angry cats didn't shy away from causing trouble. Eventually his luck ran out and he wandered into an angry tom who had decided to take out his frustrations on him, and barely escaped with his life after a violent skirmish. It was then decided he would avoid other cats, good or bad, at all costs. And for the other two and a half years of his life he remained alone, not quite lonely, but never quite fulfilled.
