Horn is a mostly white cat masking a smoke red and black calico coloring. Her tail is untouched by the white, and is the most obvious place to see the smoke effect to her fur. Her soft face has a distinctive bandit mask shape in black with ginger fur underlining it. Another ginger patch borders the top of her mask and extends over her ears. Besides that, she only has two ginger spots on her spine just above the shoulder blades. Her cold, calculating eyes are a bright amber.
Personality Gruff | Contemptuous | Strong-Willed | Ideological | Defensive
Ailments: Horn has limited speech with other cats, communicating primarily through body gestures.
Horn is far from a friendly feline. She does not like to talk much, easily becomes disgusted with others who show any form of weakness, and does not have much of a sense of humor at all. She is an observant cat who quickly takes in the strengths and weaknesses of others as well as noting how they respond to her and her father. She does not bother to have respect for those who show her none.
She possesses an intense will not only to survive, but to thrive. She believes that strength and proving yourself capable in battle is the most important part of surviving, thus those are the parts of life that she focuses almost all her energy into. She is constantly looking for others to practice with, working with her father if no one else is willing to work with her.
She also believes that others should strive just as hard to survive or else they are not worthy to do so. She feels that those who are weak without good excuse- youth, old age, illness, or injury- must be lazy or depending on others to survive and looks down harshly on them for living without earning it.
Perhaps because she is so judgemental herself, or perhaps because she knows she is seen as strange, Horn is extremely defensive against what others think or say about her. As her main means of solving any issue is to battle, this means that she gets into a lot of fights.
She does have one soft point: she is extremely loyal to those that she feels have either earned it or- by virtue of putting their trust in her- deserve it. She is just as like to fight for the perceived honor of those she is loyal to as for herself.

History
The only life Horn has ever known was that among the trees, being raised by her great horned owl "father", Talon. She has been with him as long as she can remember, though she does know from him how she became his "daughter".
In the spring that she was born, Talon pulled her from her den while her mother was hunting in order to feed his starving chick. He had already lost his life-mate and their other two chicks to long lasting bad weather and was desperate for anything to feed to his last chick. He hardly looked at the scrawny little scrap of fur he had grabbed. When he returned to his nest though, his chick had already passed on to the next life.
He pushed the kitten against his chick's mouth, unwilling to accept that the little bird wasn't going to wake up. Instead of his chick's eyes opening or his little beak opening to cry for the food, the tiny kit he held let out an angry mew that struck his heart. When he finally looked into her young, fiery eyes, he saw a tiny scrap of fearlessness with a strong desire to live. More than that, he saw the resemblance of his own young in her face.
It turned out that catching enough to keep a kitten alive without a mate's help was substantially easier to do, so Talon was able to successfully raise his foundling, jealously guarding over her. He even chased Horn's biological mother off to keep her from taking her kit back.
Horn grew up among her adoptive father's kind, always fighting for respect. Frequently in her first year she had to prove that she was not an easy snack for the taking by any young owlet. She learned to fight and stand up for herself quickly, though Talon did a good job of shredding anyone he caught trying to harm her. Horn rather resented her father's actions on her part though, wanting to earn her place among his kind with her own strength.
Luckily for Horn, with the ample hunting her father was able to bring down in her earliest days, she grew quickly and healthily. It helped that her biological parents had been larger cats as well. She quickly grew too large, strong, and capable in battle to be a target for even the hungriest of her father's kind.
Only in the most recent seasons did she start to interact with her own kind. She picked up the language roughly, starting from the base of half-remembered language that had haunted her dreams in her youth. She was disgusted by how many weak and cowardly creatures existed among her own kind. She sought a place among her kind, yet constantly encountered those who were afraid of her or her father. She fought her way through those that insulted her strange sensibilities or sought to harm her or her father.
The one time a male was foolish enough to try forcing her to mate with him, she drew a collar for his neck in his own blood and her father ate his remains. While she is not necessarily opposed to having kits for an honorable reason or with a strong mate, she is not naturally interested in that sort of thing and would never let someone who thought to take something from her by force live.
Naturally attracted to the stronger cats, it did not take her long to hear of a colony that was reforming who sought to be the strongest and rule over the rest. While she had not even been alive when the group was first disbanded, she walked into their territory with confidence, her father swooping in behind her and demanded a spot among them.
