Personality:: At first, Roka is rather wary and careful of other cats that she is not associated with. She is very observant of strangers and tries to pick them apart, deciding whether they are “good” or “bad”, or simply if they fit her standards of what a friend should be. If she doesn’t like them from afar, she will shy away. If she thinks they are cool or interesting… well, she isn’t the one to approach others. Either she will leave them alone or try to get their attention in some weird way, but only if she really wants to be their friend.
Roka is a very easy cat to get along with. After she determines whether she likes another’s personality, Roka is all around outgoing. She enjoys cracking jokes, though most of the time her jokes are stupid and not really that funny, but no matter what, she always manages to get at least a chuckle out of everybody. She also very much enjoys laughing herself, so she tries to surround herself with funny cats.
However, not everything about Roka is sweet and lovely. During group tasks, she tends to become a bit bossy if she feels like she is the only one pulling the weight, which tends to irk others at times. She does manage to stand her ground if someone tries to counter her, though, which is a good thing. While she hates lazy cats, she can also be a bit lazy herself. If she feels like she’s done her part for the day, she will make the others finish the work and relax by herself. This is probably why she doesn’t make a good cat to have in a colony, band, and especially a gang.
History: Roka’s mother gave birth to a litter of four, but due to multiple circumstances and situations, Roka was the only one who actually survived--and only barely. That being said, her siblings didn’t live long enough for her to care about their deaths, not to mention she hadn’t even opened her eyes when they died or were taken away. The only cat she remembers other than her mother is her deadbeat father, Gideon, who charmed the forest she-cats he deemed fit. The only thing he ever gave to Roka was his knowledge in escaping.
Soon, Roka’s mother decided she had enough with Gideon coming and going as he pleased, and chased him away every time he chose to come around. Her fiery spirit was enough to faze the tom, who eventually DID stop coming around. For a while, Roka was disheartened, but her mother always reassured her that it was for the best. After all, Gideon wasn’t exactly a good cat, and was a known criminal to the largest gang that resided in the forest: The United Republic.
Since Roka was his child, her mother didn’t want her being associated with gang violence at all, and told Roka that cutting her father off would save her life someday. Young Roka learned and grew accustomed to hating Gideon, and moved on with her life.
The young she-cat was only 6 months old when her mother disappeared. The only thing Roka found was blood and tufts of her mother’s grey coat scattered around the den they called home. That night, Roka was too scared to search for her, becoming afraid of the dark ever since. She stayed in the den, awaiting her mother or awaiting death. What she got instead was rather… interesting.
A couple of mornings later, Roka was approached by a tall brown male with a large scar on his face. He peered into the den menacingly, frightening the little she-cat trapped in the den. As of now, Roka assumes this tom probably would have killed her if he could reach that far back into the den. But since he couldn’t, he chuckled, and sat back.
“You look hungry, youngin’. Let’s make a deal. I’ll show you where all the food you can eat is if you join me.”
Later, Roka found this tom’s name to be Rotmaw, and he was a scout of The United Republic. She also found that he was telling the truth when she followed him back to camp that morning, and was fed well. Rotmaw kept his promise, in return that Roka serve their gang. Her small build was an advantage for them, as she could get to places they couldn’t, for multiple duties.
Roka never really liked the gang, but she tolerated the cats there. Although she made a couple of friends here and there, the rest of the adolescent cats teased her for being so small; learning from her mother, she’d always retort sourly and keep the bullies at bay. Her stay there didn’t last very long. She was a little under 1 year old before she was chased out.
“You just don’t fit Republic standards anymore. Just keep in mind that you’re lucky we don’t kill you--we’re breaking our own laws for your sake, Little Fox..”
Roka was then chased far from the territory and threatened to be killed if she set foot on their grounds again. Fearing that they would kill her anyway, she ran far away from the forest altogether and eventually ended up in the fallen village of Foxcroft.
Almost immediately upon arrival, she ran into a tom about the same age as her, named Corvus. The two weren’t looking for companionship, but after a few hours the two realized two was better than one, and became friends.
Even now, the two of them are still roaming around together, hunting and getting into trouble.
Family: Tischa (mother, presumed dead), Gideon (father, whereabouts unknown), most likely has tons of half-siblings she doesn’t know about (nor cares).
Generation: 1.
Colony/Band: Ex-scout of The United Republic, a hostile gang located deep in the woods near the village.
Note(s): The United Republic (TUR) is a gang I created myself, but it will only be mentioned in this character's posts, probably won't ever become a true thing that will be RPed. If that makes sense.
