ic: Campion, a strong, bulky tom, trotted through the snow. His long, copper fur clung to his body as the snow surrounded him. The cold, crisp air blew roughly, making him colder than he already was. Will this winter ever end, the tom pondered silently. It had been a rough winter on the feline, prey was scarce and he was growing more hungry by the second.
Just as he thought of food, his stomach growled. Pushing past the pain that he had grown accustomed to, the Highlander male continued on his journey. After many moons of being trapped inside a forbidding home, he knew that this was the freedom that he had fought for. Knowingly, the tom stopped in his tracks and looked around. Campion needed food and he needed it fast. It had been several days without a meal and if he was to survive his freedom, he had to stomach something.
The red tabby's large, milky paws clutched at the snow beneath him, his inch long claws scraping into the snow. Throwing his nose into the air, he parted his maw and sniffed the air. The scent of prey was barely there, but there had been something here recently. Continuing on the trail, the tom stalked forward. Gently gathering the scent with his nose and tongue, the tom finally saw a mouse that had come from its hiding spot underground.
Barreling towards the small creature, Campion hoped that he would finally have something to settle the nagging pit in his stomach. The mouse, as he had guessed, scurried off. However, it wasn't fast enough to escape the tom chasing it. The large feline caught it in his jaws, clamping down with his large canines into the small body, a metallic taste overpowering his tastebuds.
"Your fight is over," he whispered as he set the mouse down, it's lifeless body distorted.
Sticking his nose into his meal, the tom ripped into the mouse and started to eat his meal. It's meat was tender and soft, but he knew it wouldn't be for long. The tom powered through his meal and finished it quickly. The lurch in his stomach made him gag slightly, but knew it was because food had become foreign to him. Praying to whatever higher power was up there, he hoped that his meal would stay down.
ooc: That's all I've got. I tried to make a first post as I would with any rp, which is why it is so long. Any suggestions?
