Fluffy clouds blew across the sky slowly, the suns rays slanting around them to reach the ground. Sunlight dappled the forest floor, only marred by a tall shadow, the shadow that heralded the prescense of Phoenix. She flicked her ears, the sun uncomfortably warm on her heavy pelt. She paused to scan the forest floor, spotting a shady patch under an old oak with just a few leaves clinging on. The sun was scorching, even in the forest, the leaves burned bare and naked. Phoenix made her way heavily over to the shade, plopping down with a half-contented sigh. She twisted around to lick at a spot on her shoulders, starting to groom the heat out of her heavy fur.
